Goodbye summer. Well, what we had of it. We celebrated the coming of fall with some art, and discussed the seasons. Today was a relaxed day of combining writing, phonics and math with fun activities. We read Fancy Nancy for our read aloud, and took Puff out for recess to soak up some sun and vitamin D.
Our star of the week for next week is Laina.
Our science kits have arrived so next week we will start our formal science curriculum.
We will celebrate Johnny Appleseed on Monday. I am planning on peeling apples with the kids and making some applesauce.
We will celebrate the Jewish New Year tradition of Rosh Hashanah on Thursday with the traditional apple and honey treat for a sweet New Year.
It's nice to see that more and more the children are understanding the classroom routine and being respectful of others. Transitions are getting smoother. Looking forward to another good week.
Enjoy your weekend.
