Hello my friends, and so a new week begins. Happy to report everyone came back. Today the children had music class with Miss Amy. The children were introduced to Listening Dragon today, and Dragon went home for the week with Weston. We started our class jobs as well. Ask them what job they have this week. Mia is our Star of the Week, and while we did not have time to look at the poster she made, we will tomorrow. I have to say that the days really go by so quickly, and with the children learning new routines along with our schedule, it can be mind spinning. So have some patience with them at home if they seem tired or in a daze. It will all come together, and within a month they will be in the swing of it.
Today we started Explode the Code, which is part of our phonics curriculum. The nice thing about a small class is everyone gets to participate, and I am able to give each child individual instruction when they need help. I also use other students who have a grasp of the skills being taught to help out others who may need a little help. I don't accept "I can't do it". "Can't" is a word we don't like to use in our classroom. They must always try first. I just want them to do their kindergarten best. Boom Boom!
Mr. M.
