Today was a big math assessment day.  We have now completed 2 units!  This last unit was on the numbers 0-5 and the concept of fewer, same, and more.  What challenges the children now is the more "wordy" problems that require careful listening.  In some cases I believe they understand the concept, but decoding the presentation of the problem poses an issue.  Please review the testing pages I sent home today.  I kept the final one for their portfolio.  Please remember if you ever want to their portfolio just ask, and I will give it to you and review with you your child's progress.  I will of course always stop you when you pick up your child to discuss anything I feel is critical,  or if they are falling behind the group.

In reading we read Toys.  The letter "X" rounded out our handwriting week.  The kids made Halloween cards today and brought them home.  They had creative movement class.

Remember that Monday they may wear, and are encouraged to wear, their Halloween costumes to school.  We have our Halloween party at 2:00 PM.  A reminder also that we will be taking our monthly trip to the library on Tuesday.

Plans are underway for the Christmas play entitled "Star of Wonder".
