Halloween Week Begins

Boo!  We started our week in morning group with job changes, calendar, weather, and our normal routine. Our friend Mia brought back listening dragon and had a fabulous time with him.  Hans is now treating Listening Dragon to some at home time with him and his family this week.

In reading we read Spring.  Talk about wishful thinking.  In handwriting and phonics we worked on letter "V".  We read two spooky Halloween stories today, one in the morning and one in the afternoon before music class.  We also read our Scholastic Magazine featuring creatures that come out at night, which lead us to talk about what nocturnal means.  In math we are up to lesson 2-8.  Hurrahs and another certificate went out to Sedona for finishing 200 questions in IXL math!

At the end of the day we finished a mobile of frightening creatures which have now joined our bats hanging from the classroom ceiling.  Mr. M. finished a most spectacular pumpkin carving of a dragon for the carving contest later this week.  I also did some campaigning for our class choice for school mascot.  A dragon!  By the way parents can vote also when you come to school.  The pumpkins are on the table out in the library with ballots to pick the pumpkin of your choice.

Go Hillside Dragons!!

Mr. M.
