Bats, bats, bats

I started Halloween week a little early today with a craft project of creating bats to hang from the ceiling over the desks.  Spooky!  I read The Legend of Spookley, The Square Pumpkin, and Ten Very Shy Ghosts. In reading we read Play Ball.  The take home reading program is moving right along.  Handwriting was the letter "U", and in phonics we did the "D" sound.
In science we continued our portfolio with writing and drawing about someone special in our lives.  We finished the day with Spanish.

The kids asked about having a PJ day,  so I have proclaimed tomorrow as Pajama Day in our class.  PJ's, stuffed animals, and blankies are welcomed.

Reminder about Remlingers next week.  I am looking for help in setting up a Halloween party on the 31st.
