Day 26

Well two more of our friends were out today and under the weather.  We wish them as well a speedy recovery.

For reading we read Out.  Our new letter was the letter "H".  I tried to trick them when I did not tell them what it was, but had them draw it in their minds as I gave them clues.  I read another fire safety book, Firefighter Frank, and we watched an exciting video from the library about different ways firemen and women put out fires using fire trucks, planes, helicopters, and boats.

We had a special artistic guest in the classroom today.  None other than Mrs. M., who used a fascinating technique to make trees using a little washable black ink which she dotted on the paper, and the children used a straw to blow air through to make the branches.  She then crumpled up fall colored tissue paper to form leaves on the tree and on the ground.  The kids did a great job of creating their own fall scenes.  Please take note of them when you come in.

We finished our day with Spanish and free choice time.  I think I mentioned we have two new computers in the class now where the children can go online.  I have introduced them to Starfall, and will introduce PBS Kids to them, both are great sites that combine fun with learning.

Mr. M.
