I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving.

This week is Scholastic Book Week.  The children book shopped today and wrote down books they might like for possible purchase.  Please review your child's list at home.

We read Hot and Cold today.  In handwriting we did the numbers "7" and "8".  For writing we wrote about birthdays in our journals.  For math we did Envision 4-5 and celebrated Mia for her IXL achievement of two hours of math practice online, and 10% proficiency.  In addition, Sedona also achieved two hours of math practice online.  Congratulations to Mia and Sedona!  I hope to get the kids down to the computer lab again this week for IXL, but please do it at home.

Speaking about at home self directed work, we now have Explode the Code for the kids to do at home as well.  This is a really fun way to learn to read and solidify their sounding of words.  Most kids can do this as a self directed activity.  Both, Explode the Code and IXL direct the children in what to do.
