Yes I forgot to read this Seuss classic (Wacky Wednesday) yesterday. Not a problem. We read it today. In reading we read Where Is Water? Handwriting it was letter "I,i". March calendars were completed, and a spirited I Have, Who Has was played. I sent a work sheet home to practice these critical must know words, and as noted not all are easy to sound out and are site words. We learn them by drilling them. So please take some time, there are not many. Many they know, but satisfy yourself that your child has a firm grip on identifying them. We will continue to practice in class.
Kids had PE today. In math it was lesson 8-6. We had time to do the Challenge Box, and I was happy to see that everyone was engaged in it at some level. This is their opportunity on their own to push forward in their continuing mastery of number sense.
In social studies we again discussed and looked at how other cultures celebrate with unique dress, food, song, and dance. Why people wear the clothes they wear in different climates. The children were most interested in why people in the Amazon Region decorate themselves by pushing bamboo sticks through their nose, and mouth.
