For reading today we read How Many Legs. In handwriting, lowercase "b". In writing it was write the room, and all the kids got through that, and also managed to journal. For phonics we did sight words that all kindergartners should know in preparation for first grade. That will be a continuing part of our curriculum.
We now have four computers in the classroom for choice, and free choice time. I read a couple books today on Groundhog Day, and taught the children exactly what that means. They usually broadcast it on the morning news from Pennsylvania, so if you think of it tune in. In any case I will find a YouTube video that will help their understanding of shadows, groundhogs, and if it's going to be an early spring.
In science we continued and finished the skin unit by comparing skin colors and then matching them to my special skin color crayons.
In math we finished unit 6, and will have our end of unit test tomorrow.
We had music today, as we have flip flopped music and Spanish. Music will be on Wednesday and Spanish on Monday.
Remember there is no school this Friday. It's an in-service day for teachers.
