Today's classroom  reading book was Paint It Purple.  My favorite color, if you did not know it yet.  Alex won the estimation jar this week.  Come to think of it, Alex has had a knack for estimating, as does Laina.  We finished our Valentine's Day marathon of books with Love, Spat, and Clifford Finds Love.  We completed our Handwriting Without Tears workbook today with poems.  We will now go back through the alphabet once more with a little twist to it.  We will practice both upper and lower case together, and sentence writing for each letter. The kids filled out their February calendars and not one mistake was made.  I am totally impressed!  After lunch we had PE with Mr. Ken.  Then we read our Valentine's Day Let's Find Out magazine.  Finally, on the academic side, we did math lesson 7.3.  I have sent home the enrichment packet to do at home based on the previous unit we have finished.  You need not return unless you want to.

Now with the children totally tortured to get into party mode, I made them do one more mini craft - finger puppets, while Heather (Bentley's mom), and Nicole (Laina's mom) set up for the party.  Thank you bunches for your help, and the treats that came in, and for the party!  The kids exchanged cards, gifts, and were totally sugared up for their parents to deal with tonight.  Been there, done that, and I know your pain.  Check out the pictures in the photo stream to the right.
