The Velveteen Rabbit

I have started this entry at lunch and so far so good with class behavior, and listening.  I do feel like a Grinch sometimes but it is a big key to a successful learning experience for everyone, especially in a kindergarten class.  Routine and classroom safety are important.
Our PJ and pillow pet day is on for tomorrow.  Reminders to bring in a bag or two of candy that can be frosting pasted to the holiday scenes we will create with our big buddies Friday afternoon.  I invite you all if you can to our school assembly at around 2:45 or so.  We will be singing, and closing out our 2011 school year.

Reminder for next years start.
  1. Science homework on eyes
  2. Headphones for computer lab
  3. Another box of crayons (regular size).  I have some new ones I will be putting out, but we are low.
Today we read Pond Animals.  For handwriting, lowercase "g".  We filled in our December calendar with all the dates.  It was kids' choice for writing.  Today we had PE.

I am sending home an enrichment packet to be done at home with you.  They need not bring them back.  They are for practice and it's based on the unit we just finished.  Next up will be numbers 11-20, and working with two digit numbers.

After PE, and math we all relaxed and watched The Velveteen Rabbit movie.  A classic for Christmas, and with a message that if you wish hard enough and have love in your life, good things can really come true.  Even turning an old worn out forgotten velveteen rabbit into something real.

Loving someone makes us real.

Puff got some kiddo time.  She is so patient with kids even with her eyes poked, and and being passed around.
