The day has arrived for the performance of the year! The children have practiced and practiced, and I have played the music in our room 937 times. Will they remember the words? No matter, we will all be proud of them anyway. I am looking forward to tonight, and hope to see you there.
For reading we read My Body, which follows up My Face, which all plays into our science study of ourselves.
Well we decorated our gingerbread men, ladies today. I made, with the help of Tara, little piping bags to pipe the frosting on our cookies. We also had a colored frosting station and a sprinkle station. All was great fun, and while I modeled making one gingerbread man, I let the children have at it with their own creative talent on their gingerbread creations. We realized that we had a lot of gingerbread men/ladies and someone suggested we one to each of our big buddies in Miss Suzanne's 3rd-4th class. And so we did, bringing them down to them. A great surprise and treat, I think with one exception, all enjoyed eating them. Seven out of our eight kids, bit the head off 1st. Statically, nationwide, that is the preferred part of the anatomy to bite first. So please be assured your kids are normal, and do not require analysis.
Friday, by the way, is sharing day. The one day I allow sharing. Someone always has something to share. We call it stump the class. Creative movements class as you might expect was more practice for tonight's play. I let the kids have an easy end of day as I did not want them to be too tired for tonight, so they watched the end of Madagascar or did some drawing.
