I am feeling much appreciated

Thank you so much today for the goodies you brought in.  Both myself and the others teachers were fattened up today with treats. Shawn Gilbreth brought in his Rustic Pizza rig and treated all to his wonderful wood fired pizzas.

Today in reading we read We Count.  Alex's mom, Stacy, came in to help Tiffany, Rylie's mom, get our class basket completed.  The kiddos made custom decorated garden stepping stones and planted a large planter along with 3 smaller ceramic planters.  Thank you Tiffany for undertaking this, and coordinating our class basket with the other parents.

We had computer lab today where our focus again was phonics with Explode the Code.  I am sending home tonight score sheets from their work on ETC to date and their recent workbooks which we do in the classroom.  In math we did unit 12-7 and 12-8.  No one is having any problems in identifying by site things that are larger, taller or shorter.  We will have our end of unit test tomorrow.  I have sent home the enrichment pack.
One Brave Little Boy
A wonderful piece of great news -  Eddie, the little boy from Duvall who has been waiting for a heart transplant is getting a heart today.  He is a neighbor of the Dietrich's.  The transplant team is waiting and the procedure will take place late this evening.  The children have prayed for him everyday since we heard of his plight.  Our prayers continue to be with him in that the procedure goes well and his body accepts this wonderful gift.  We also pray for the family and the youngster who gave this precious gift of life.  I encourage everyone to consider organ donation.

I was also thrilled today to detect movement in one of our incubated eggs.  Everyone had a chance to see one of our eggs start to move.  Hopefully he/she will wait until tomorrow to crack through the shell so we can see the miracle of life before our eyes.
