Skittle Math

Well if all goes well we should have chicks starting to hatch by Monday.  I removed the automatic turner now and the eggs will have to be hand turned for the next 3 days.  We are all keeping our fingers crossed that the eggs were fertilized, and that we have live chicks growing inside.  The eggs do feel heavier, a good sign.  Maybe next year I will weigh the eggs before I put them in and then check their weight after 10 days or so.  As cells reproduce, my hypothesis is that they will indeed be heavier than when we started.  Am I right moms out there?

For reading we read Tools or everything you wanted to know about yard and building tools.  In handwriting it was letter "Y,y".  We did not have movement today so we worked in our Explode the Code workbooks.  For science it was Two by Two, as we built our word vocabulary for eggs, and chicks based on what we know now just before the eggs hatch.  In math we did two lessons.  Lessons 12-4 and 12-5.  As a fun activity we played Skittle Math with the children graphing their Skittle colors on a chart.  I had the most purple and was super happy as purple is my favorite color!
